Alma College issued the following announcement on May 7.
Seven members of the Alma College chapter of the Business Professionals of America, competing May 1-5 at the organization’s National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, Calif., earned medals ranking them in the top 10 in the nation in their competition categories.
“Our students qualified to compete in 11 events at nationals, and our students placed in the top 10 in all 11 events,” says Tina Rolling, assistant professor of business administration. “I am so proud of these students. Not only were they fun to be around, they represented Alma exceptionally well.”
Nearly 6,000 high school and post-secondary student delegates from across the nation competed in national level business skills competitions and attended leadership development workshops and general sessions.
Competitions ranged from individual to team, from objective tests to judged presentations. Categories cover multiple topics — from accounting, business law and financial literacy to computer programming, digital publishing and database applications.
