Graduates earn 1,706 degrees, certificates from Saginaw Valley State University


About 25.6 percent of the 1,706 degrees and certificates handed out by Saginaw Valley State University in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Center conferred 315 bachelor's degrees and 121 master's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in registered nursing/registered nurse. Data shows the school gave out 205 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse, followed by 102 bachelor's degrees in social work and 84 bachelor's degrees in general business administration and management.

The university enrolled 8,617 students for 2017-18, including 7,846 in undergraduate programs and 771 in graduate programs.
