Graduates earn 296 degrees from Alma College


About 22 percent of the 296 degrees and certificates handed out by Alma College in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the private not-for-profit institution in Alma conferred 65 bachelor's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a bachelor's degree in general health and wellness. Data shows the school gave out 28 bachelor's degrees in general health and wellness, followed by 22 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse and 21 bachelor's degrees in general psychology.

The college enrolled 1,426 students for 2017-18, all of whom were enrolled in undergraduate programs.
